Originally from Mexico City, the 21-year-old central defender, who emerged from the Puebla youth academy, is the third signing of the Iguanas for the 2024 Clausura Tournament

Cancún, Quintana Roo January 10, 2024.- The champion of the Expansion League adds a new reinforcement, the third, to defend its title in the 2024 Clausura Tournament.

This is the central defender, Leonardo Yael Jiménez Montero, originally from Mexico City, 21 years old, who emerged from the Puebla youth academy. He was born on January 18, 2002 (about to turn 22), he is 1.76 meters tall and weighs 70 kilograms.

With La Franja, practically, he ventured from Basic Forces (Sub 13, from 2011-2012 until 2014). Subsequently, he was part of Tuzos del Pachuca, also with the Sub 13, 15 and 17 (2015 to 2019), respectively, until he returned with Puebla (2019 to 2023) to join the Sub 17, 20 and 23.

In his most recent appearances with the Poblanos Sub 20 (Clausura 2022 to Clausura 2023), he accumulated 43 games as a starter. On the other hand, with the Sub 23 (Apertura 2023) he was immovable, with a total of 1,412 minutes, derived from 16 games he played.

Jiménez joins the Guadalajara goalkeeper, Gustavo Gutiérrez, and the Cancun midfielder, Jorge Díaz Price, as the new faces of Cancún FC.
