BOSTON CANCUN FC ACHIEVES A STRONG VICTORY AGAINST TIBURONES DE PROGRESO FC
A hat trick by Gael Gutiérrez in the first half makes the difference (3-0) for the Iguanas' affiliate against the Yucatecans, on matchday 14 of the 2024-2025 LTDP Season
Cancún, Quintana Roo, January 25, 2025.- Boston Cancún FC achieved a resounding victory (3-0) against Tiburones de Progreso FC, in the resumption of the 2024-2025 Season of the Third Professional Division League (LTDP), corresponding to Group One.
Less than half an hour was enough for the Iguanas' reserve team to shape the scoreboard, thanks to a hat-trick by Gael Gutiérrez, the star of the match on the synthetic pitch of the State High Performance Sports Center (CEDAR).
Just two minutes into the game, the hosts opened the scoring through Gael Gutiérrez, with a cross shot to the left post of goalkeeper Esteban Lozano.
The Bostonians overwhelmed the Yucatecans, proof of this, in their next offensive, they would achieve 2-0 with another goal by Gael Gutiérrez, now in the seventh minute.
Despite the visitors' brief reaction, Boston kept up the pace, to the point that Enoc Márquez almost made it three with a long-distance shot when he saw goalkeeper Lozano out of position.
At 27', Gael Gutiérrez managed to finish off a ball that seemed lost, a few meters from Lozano's goal. Boston was already beating the sharks.
Before the end of the first half, Enoc Márquez let the home team's fourth chance slip away when, in the penalty area, in a one-on-one, he was unable to beat the goalkeeper, Esteban Lozano, who saved the shot from the number '146'.
Already in the second half, the team led by the professor, Edgar Iván Liévano Flores closed spaces to the rival, who tried to react, but with more desire than football.
A counterattack orchestrated by Enoc Márquez was close to scoring the fourth goal, however, his shot went just wide of Lozano's goal.
Once again, Boston had the chance to make it four, thanks to the hat-trick scorer, Gael Gutiérrez, who, uncomfortable with the defense, headed the ball just outside the penalty area, but not enough to beat the goalkeeper, Lozano.
The victory allows the Caribbeans to add 34 points. On the other hand, Tiburones stayed with 21.
On matchday 15, the Iguanas affiliate will visit Villahermosa to face Felinos de la 48, on Friday, January 31.
